Unemployment surges to 7.3pc

New Zealand's unemployment rate has surged to 7.3 per cent, from 6.5
per cent, and now stands at its highest level since June 1999.

Figures just released show the number of unemployed kept climbing during the December quarter, reaching 168,000.
